Meaningful Differences

I write fiction on the basic themes of "meaningful differences" between men and women, people getting second chances after either terrible experiences or terrible choices, and positive depictions of masculinity.

I write fanfiction as maryh10000 over at fanfiction.net. I spent four years in the USAF and the rest of my career as an IT geek. I’ve started writing original fiction under the name of Mary Hare, and I’m trying out publishing bits of my works in progress here, to see how that goes.

Published

My first published novella, Cloak and Stola, is a story of ancient Rome inspired by historical evidence of the de facto marriages of Roman legion soldiers, after Augustus Caesar banned them from the highest form of marriage. Since it deals with marriage, it is something of a love story, but it doesn’t really hit the romance story “beats.”

I also have a short story in the “But Not Broken” anthology, which has the theme of surviving and healing from cPTSD. It’s called “Domestic Disturbance.” But Not Broken
