Answered above. I said "Haven't gotten that far. I've read the book and now, two short stories." It will be interesting to see how Howard himself handles the trope of the woman warrior.
I liked Howard's short story with "Dark Agnes" the swordswoman. I liked it much more than CL Moore's "Jirel of Joiry," which was too close to an LSD dream, IMHO. 🤷♂️
I love the way you wrote "She couldn't figure out how to get out of his seraglio, but she can drug the guards, steal a horse, a war dagger, the keys to the cell, and a horse."
And yes, sexy but not useless.
I haven't read shadows in the moonlight yet, but I did like Zenobia.
You so nailed it, LOVED this analysis and completely agree about Zenobia, gonna have to read those two stories you just read (I haven't yet). Can't wait to do so!
See Chakaal in Sergio Aragonés's "Groo the Wanderer."

What about Valeria in "Red Nails"? She was pretty bad-ass.

I won't give anything away except to say that it's worth reading.
Hour of the dragon was good.

You should read it. It's available at Gutenberg Project AU (for Australia).
